Maths & Science Week - Identifying Trees

​Year 6 Identifying Trees
Children took leaves form the school grounds and had to create keys to help identify the leaves from the trees.  They had to ask sensible, scientific questions based on the features of the leaves, for example:
Is the leaf at least twice as long it is wide?
Do the leaves grow in opposite pairs?
Does the edge of the leaf have large teeth?
By answering yes and no, they came to name the tree.
