THE PRESENTATION OF JESUS IN THE TEMPLE On 2nd February, English Martyrs celebrated the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord which marks forty days after His birth. He is presented to Simeon and Anna. This is Jesus' first entry into the temple. Year 1 and 2 re-enacted the Gospel story before their parents and school as we took time to pray and give thanks for Jesus who is the light of our world. |
Y6 WORSHIP IN OUR PRAYER GARDEN Year 6 prayed for world peace. We filled our prayer garden with the sound of song which combined beautifully with the birdsong. Here, we were able to appreciate the peace and tranquillity we continue to enjoy while a war rages on near our lands. We took the time to appreciate our beautiful surroundings observing the signs of God and our blessings all around us. Personal intentions were made. Our mission – to pray more frequently in the days which lie ahead. |
Y5 REMEMBERING JESUS IN THE GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE Oh Lord hear my prayer, oh Lord hear my prayer, when I call, answer me…We sang, listened to a Scripture passage of Jesus in the Garden and collected twigs from our beautiful grounds. Back in class, we created crosses to symbolise Jesus and His suffering for our sins. We made personal intentions to recognise the importance of forgiveness. |
