Year 6 baked bread to see the reaction of yeast when mixed with flour and water. We also looked at the cellular structure of yeast. Some of us got very, very messy but everyone went home with a delicious loaf of bread!
Thank you to Parents
We wanted to thank our parents for their tremendous and generous contributions in raising funds for our school. We recognise the importance of offering thanks and making people feel valued. The artwork was an enjoyable outcome for us.
We always welcome children who want to study or present an aspect of a topic even further. This week our presentation was on the Eastern Front in World War II. This enabled Year 6 to delve deeper into the complexities of war.
Yeast - An observation over time
In science we are learning about microorganisms. On 4th March, we set up an observation using bananas. On one slice, we sprinkled yeast and sealed it inside a plastic bag, on another, we simply sealed it and observed it over the next fortnight.
We are studying picture books in Year 6. This week, we looked at Rose Blanche, a young girl in World War II. Year 6 had to write their own story to the illustrations. This is a sample of one narrative…
