Creative juices flow in Year 6…

Following in the footsteps of William Wordsworth, Year 6 wrote their own version of Westminster Bridge, but on Tower Bridge.  Wordsworth wrote his great piece 219 years ago and the children were asked to compare the imagery and language of 1802 to today.

Earth whispers changes over generations
Buses begin the evolution as they travel over the river
Beauty lies ahead
Just as it did, generations ago
Cranes, ships, glass towers, what a sight
The power of water and light shines bright,
Majestic wealth across the land
As London Bridge holds the people of today,
The river, sky and wind stay the same,
Even though two hundred years and more have passed on.
