In English the children researched a prominent scientist that contributed to the area of Science that we are studying. They highlighted the features of a biography and then wrote their own detailed biography.
In History, to launch our Tudor topic, the children were given a Tudor artefact. They became history detectives and had to work out what their artefact could be used for, what material it was made out of, the skills you would need to make it and who might use the artefact.
In Reading the children are enjoying our story ‘Who’s afraid of the big bad book?’ Before we started reading the story, the children made predictions about what they thought would happen.
In Science we are exploring Forces. The children have undertaken a variety of investigations to discover the effects of air resistance, water resistance and friction. They have made predictions and written up their investigations using bar charts to show their results.
In Year 3 the children have started their fraction topic in Maths by investigating fractions. They worked well in their pairs to show their different fractions using a variety of shapes. Some children were even able to show their fraction as a percentage and a decimal number! Well done children! As the children are preparing for their Holy Communion, in RE we observed what you would find inside a parish church. In our RE lessons, we are celebrating Easter and Pentecost. We used watercolours to paint daffodils. After a visit to our local church where Father Alex explained the importance of the Easter Vigil, the children decorated their own Paschal Candle and wrote their own prayer asking for them to be a light to others around them. |
