Today, Cliff McNish, author of the international bestselling Doomspell series and Breathe, amongst other titles, visited the school to talk to students about his books.

​As part of our Reading lesson, the children participated in ‘Hot Seating’ where two pupils act in role as important characters in a story. The rest of the children have to create relevant questions and ask the two pupils in the Hot Seat. The class came up with thoughtful questions and the two pupils in the Hot Seat did a marvellous job of answering the questions as the Queen of Darkness and Blue John (from our reading text this term: Blue John).
The children then wrote a letter as the Queen of Darkness to her son, Blue John explaining how she felt about him going out of their cave and into the world.
