English - Conscience Alley

26/1/2022

As part of our English lessons, the children created a ‘Conscience Alley’ where one pupil is the main character (Leon) and one side of the alley persuades the main character to do something (step inside the magical box) with reasons. The other side of the alley persuades the character to do the opposite (don’t step inside the magical box) with reasons.
The children then wrote a letter to Leon to say what they think he should do, giving their reasons.
What would you encourage Leon to do?

ICT - Simulations

24/1/2022

Year 3 were invited to a Price Waterhouse Cooper production of Alice in Wonderland. All the pupils and the staff had a great evening and enjoyed the performance and the 'sing-along'. The coach on the way home was a lot quieter the the one going!

RE - The importance of forgiveness

12/1/2022

In Year 3 the children have been learning about the importance of forgiveness through the parable of the Prodigal Son. In groups they dramatized a section of the parable and were able to reflect upon a time when they had to offer forgiveness.

Science in Year 3

11/1/2022

In science we have been investigating light.  The children placed objects inside their box and looked through the holes they had made in the side to see if they could see anything.  They discovered that they could not see their object as no light was getting into the box.  With their torches shining through the holes, they noticed that they could only see an object if the torch light shone directly onto it.

English - 'Leon and the place between’

10/1/2022

In Year 3 the children have been studying the story ‘Leon and the place between’. They dramatized a section of the story in groups and then were able to plan and write a descriptive paragraph about a performer in the circus.
