To kick start our World Book Day celebrations, Year 3 had the opportunity to participate in a drama workshop led by Charlie, an actor and team member of West End Theatre. The children engaged enthusiastically with Charlie and they worked well in groups to recreate parts of the story ‘The boy at the back of the class’. They followed Charlie’s instructions well and were able to create a freeze frame of key moments in the story. They also worked in different groups to make an assortment of shapes using dramatic techniques taught by Charlie. They ended their workshop with a soundscape. Well done Year 3! The children visited church and Father Alex told the children about the Sacrament of Reconciliation. They listened attentively and then reflected on the question: "How does the sacrament of reconciliation help you to build your relationship with God?" Year 3 had a wonderful time at the science museum today. They behaved impeccably and were both amazed and engrossed in the variety of galleries that we visited. They especially enjoyed interacting with the many different exhibits in the Wonderlab on the top floor of the museum. They answered and asked a multitude of questions and were aptly tired on the return journey back to school. In one boy’s words: "Miss, thank you for the best trip ever, this has been the best day of my life!" |
