It’s been a really lovely and busy week in Nursery! We have had lots of enthusiastic and lively children bursting with brilliant ideas on how to make our new Post Office area outside. We used the children’s ideas and added new resources to the post office such as post box, wrapping paper, till, money, envelopes, Christmas cards, bags and ribbons. This contributed to the children’s excitement and helped to make this time of the year so sparkly and magical. When playing inside and outside we have worked on our perseverance, resilience and determination skills.
In Nursery this week we have been reading the story ‘Stick Man’ by Julia Donaldson. We collected sticks and leaves from our garden to make our own pictures of Stick Man. Look at our fantastic work. As part of our Collective Worship we have been creating prayers for our prayer tree. We thanked God for the food we eat, our toys and our families and we asked Him to give us love, decorations and ‘a house’ for Christmas. In Maths we sang the song ‘The twelve days of Christmas’. Then we counted the characters mentioned in the song and recorded the number on our paper using lines, circles and hearts. We used these to make our Maths display.
