This week in Nursery we have been learning all about Diwali, the Festival of Light. We have listened to the story of ‘Rama and Sita’, made Rangoli patterns and diva lamps from clay and decorated them with beautiful sequins and glitter. We hung lights everywhere in the classroom and explored with different sources of light. We also danced to traditional music and tasted naan bread. This week in Nursery we followed the children’s interests in fire engines. We have learnt the song ‘I am the firefighter’ and made a fantastic fire engine outside. We also learnt what a firefighter’s job is and then pretended to be firefighters, we saved the cat from the tree, put the pretend fire out and informed people how to stay safe. We have had a wonderful week in nursery. We have also been learning about Autumn and looked in our wild garden, for signs of Autumn and collected leaves and sticks. We had great fun investigating and exploring the leaves by throwing them in the air and stomping on them to hear the sounds they made. We also made a collage using natural materials. The children are very proud of their work and would like to share our displays with you. |
