We looked at the four different sentence types during our English lessons this week. We read the sentence and then decided what type of sentence it was. We then discussed the sentences and changed any we thought were not sorted correctly. Statement – a sentence that tells the reader something. Things were looking bleak for fox. Question – asks a question and uses a question mark at the end to show that you are asking a question. Why have you taken us? Command – telling someone to do something and usually starts with a verb. Try this delicious pine cone! Exclamation – starts with a what or a how and is a full sentence that includes a verb and ends in an exclamation mark. What a terrifying beast it was!
