Click We had a lovely relaxing afternoon in the sun sketching the flowers outside the classroom window. We looked really carefully at their shape and sketched all we could see from our view point. We then used oil pastels to colour them. Can you name the flowers we have sketched? here to edit. We have started our topic on ‘Plants’. We looked at what plants need to grow. We decided that they need:
We then started an experiment to see if a plant will grow if certain conditions are taken away. We put a bean seed in the fridge, in a dark cupboard, left one without water, one outside and one with no soil. We decided we need to check the experiment weekly to see what happens The children predicted that the seeds will not grow because they do not have all the things they need. In Year 2 we have started our new book in English ‘The Disgusting Sandwich’ by Gareth Edwards and Hannah Shaw. We began by making our own disgusting sandwich. We collected ingredients from the playground the more disgusting the better. Then we made our sandwich and thought about how we could describe our ingredients using two adjectives. We even invited Miss Nugent to come and try our sandwiches for her lunch! Have a look and see if you would try our disgusting sandwiches! |
