Year 5 are really enjoying our class novel - ‘Boy in the Tower’.  This is a sci-fi novel with serious themes about how we protect our world, courage, being different and mental health issues.
The children have made predictions and have worked on finding evidence to back up their ideas. This work is showing some of their visualisations of the early chapters and some of the clues about what is happening in this exciting book.

We have finished our topic on simple machines. Year 5 completed a lever experiment last week and this week we made pulleys and recognised how pulleys can make our lives easier.   They used different amounts of pulleys and lengths of string to test their ideas.

We are studying ‘Life in the Risen Jesus’
 
The children have written some beautiful reflections about the resurrection and what it means to them.  I Was also extremely proud of their longer written task in Religion this week. The task was about the appearances of Jesus and what we can learn from them. The depth of feeling in the work was amazing.
