What an amazing time Years 1-6 had during their sports days this week! We were very lucky with the weather as the rain held off.
It was a fantastic morning or afternoon, with the pupils performing brilliantly. They displayed determination, perseverance, team spirit and a great amount of effort.
Class teams were awarded points for each activity and then all the activities combined for a total score. The team with the most points in each class were the winners. The children will find out the winning team in each class on Tuesday.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to Coach Smokie and Josh for making it such a fun event after a hectic year.
Year 4 used soot and oil to print after learning about the early printing presses of William Caxton and Johannes Gutenberg.
Year 4 class displays on sound and communication. Our topics for the first half of the summer term and the corridor display for Maths and Science week.
Year 4 worked with a partner to experiment with pitch using the elastic bands and cups to create sounds.
They were learning to understand that pitch changes and to find a pattern between the pitch of a sound and the features of the object that creates it.
Year 4 looked for insects and recorded their finds on a table. They found hollyhocks around the playground and the grass area. They noticed the places with the most seedlings and asked why?
They measured the trees using a formula and they measured the perimeter of the veg. boxes.
Year 4 had the opportunity to speak about their chosen Mathematician or Scientist.
We are using our Lent display to help us prepare for Easter.
Year 4 painted the abundant daffodils in the school grounds and this prompted very interesting scientific questions.
