Statutory Admissions Appeals Timetable 2026-27
In accordance with the Department for Education (DfE) School Admission Appeals Code, English Martyrs Catholic Primary School has established the following timetable for social and academic appeals for the 2026-27 intake.

Important Information for Parents:
In accordance with the Department for Education (DfE) School Admission Appeals Code, English Martyrs Catholic Primary School has established the following timetable for social and academic appeals for the 2026-27 intake.
1. Primary Reception Intake (September 2026)
- National Offer Day: 16 April 2026
- Deadline for Lodging an Appeal: 20 May 2026 (at least 20 school days from the date of notification).
- Deadline for Appellants to Submit Evidence: 5 June 2026.
- Notice of Appeal Hearing: At least 10 school days’ notice will be given before the hearing.
- Appeal Hearings Held: June and July 2026 (within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals).
- Decision Letters Sent: Within 5 school days of the hearing.
2. In-Year Admissions Appeals
For applications made for "in-year" admissions (transferring during the school year):
- Deadline: Appeals must be lodged within 20 school days of the date of the letter refusing a place.
- Hearing Date: Appeals will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.

Important Information for Parents:
- Late Appeals: Appeals lodged after the deadline will be heard alongside on-time appeals where possible. If not, they will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
- Evidence: Any additional evidence you wish the panel to consider should be submitted no later than 5 school days before the hearing.
- Infant Class Size Legislation: Please be aware that for Reception, Year 1, and Year 2, the law limits class sizes to 30 pupils. This greatly restricts the grounds on which an appeal can be successful.
